Personal Blogging gains the ability for profit

Until recently making money blogging was the domain of the “big blogs” and blog networks. Small bloggers might make a little bit via ads or affiliate links but it was generally only a limited amount. Perhaps you might cover costs but that might be just about it. Recently though there has been a change in the way that bloggers can make money and here is some of the ways that i make money blogging:

Text Link Ads

Text Link Ads would have to be my favourite way of making money via blogging because its just so easy. I’ve set up the code on the blog and thats it. You can see them on the top right hand side of my blog (below the Text Link Ads banner) and assomeone buys another link it automatically appears. At present 7 out of the 8 available links are sold which means the start of every month the money appears in my paypal account. They have also commenced Feedvertising which means they are selling a line of text advertising in my blog feed which is again all automated. In short Text Link Ads is a great source of income for any blogger

PayPerPost is another source of income that i am happy with. By writing posts on topics i select, the post is approved and 30 days later the money appears in my paypal account. It is easy money as all you need to do is write your post on the subject and its submited for approval. A month later the money is in your account. Some of the posts are big money too and its not unusual for me to be paid more than $30 a day for posts via PayPerPost. If you think PayPerPost is for you then just click the link and if you feel generous then don’t forget to include my email address there so i get $5 for sending you their way!

I have also been pleased with Blogsvertise as a source of income. You can set your own price for posts on your blog and they assign topics based on the subject matter of your blog. A month later, the cash is in your paypal account. Its that easy with Blogsvertise.

New on the scene is BlogtoProfit who again pay based on posts on their desired topics and links. Your free to choose what categories you receive subjects on and paypal is again the method of payment. I’m yet to receive my first subjects but it looks good so far. I’d consider it a kindness if you included my email address (greg@everybody-knows.com) in the referral field because then they give me some money for my efforts!

For bloggers wanting more traditional advertising on their site, Google Adsense provides contextual (based on the subject of the page or post) banners in a variety of styles. For regular readers of my blog you would have seen their ads in various locations. Depending on your blogging platform there are also scripts available to make placement of ads easier and with custom options. Payment is via cheque or direct deposit in the next month after your balance reaches $100. Click their image to join

Adbrite is another popular advertising provider on websites and operates by placing code on your site . It can be either ads sold on your website (paid whether someone clicks or not) or alternatively surplus network ads (paid when someone clicks on it). You have the ability to allow or deny ads on your website and payment is when your account balance reaches $20.

The newest kid on the blog block for making money is ReviewMe which works by bloggers signing up and if accepted they are allocated reviews of various products, services and websites. The blogger then has to write a review on the site. Reviews are honest and unlike some paid blogging opportunities, the tone and the linkage are what the blogger wants. So if the site, product what ever sucks, then the blogger is able to say exactly that without fear of the review being denied and not being paid. Other than that there are not a lot of rules involved in being a blogger for ReviewMe. Reviews do have to be a minimum of 200 words but from my experience 200 words isn’t really a lot if your writing a post.

There are but a few of my favourite ways of blogging and making money at the same time. With little effort i am making easy money for doing something that i enjoy and some of the things that i am paying (or have paid) for with my blogging include:

  • Monthly ADSL bill
  • Phone Bills
  • Web hosting and domain registration
  • Credit card payments
  • Valleyschwag subscriptions
  • New Computer Monitor
  • Battlefield 2142
  • Other software
  • A computer set top box to watch videos stored on my pc through my tv

Good luck making some cash.
